St. Mary of Zion Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahado Church will be holding a fundraising event on February 27^th at 1pm at the Ukrainian Community Center located at 301 Palisade Avenue, Yonkers, NY.

At this event, the long awaited raffle drawing will take place where the Grand Prize is a 2010 Toyota Camry, the second prize a 3-piece sectional, the third prize a round trip ticket to Addis Ababa, the fourth prize a 42” Panasonic flat screen TV, and the fifth prize a Dell laptop. As part of the festivities, a comedy show featuring Meskerem Bekele will take place.

St. Mary of Zion Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahado Church congregation recently purchased their church after 18 years of searching for a building that would accommodate their religious needs and centrally located within the tri-state area.

Those wishing to enter the raffle can purchase a raffle ticket at the event or by calling W/o Amsale at (973)-997-0142.

Admission fee is $25 in advance and $30 at the door and $50 for a raffle ticket.

Proceedings from this event will go toward paying the church’s mortgage.
