Sheba – Lovers Rock Gets Grown and Sexy

Read Time:1 Minute, 31 Second

From, AddisTunes: I first saw Sheba (a.k.a. the Real Sheba) perform about a year ago….on the heels of her debut, chart-topping hit “Love this Lifetime” with Bounty Killer.  She raised the roof and brought the house down with her special blend of reggae, afro funk, and R&B.  Hips were swaying and heads-a-nodding as her band hypnotized the audience with reggae riffs and and some funk “for yo’ behinds”!

If the past is any indication of the future, Sheba’s peformrance at Joe’s Pub this Saturday (Sept. 18th) is bound to be hot!  In the true spirit of generosity, the reigning queen of lovers rock took some time out of her busy schedule to discuss music, life, love, and all things Sheba…  Hey world, get ready!!!

AT: So you have a lot going on…new band, upcoming shows in NYC.  What’s going on in the world of Sheba?  Give us an update!

Sheba: There is a lot going on this year! The last year and a half I was really tied up pushing the single with Bounty Killer so I didn’t release a lot of music, but now I’m ready to let people hear what I’ve been up to. Over the next few months, I’ll be releasing a mixtape, “The Lion of Sheba, Roars,” the first album, “The Lion Of Sheba” and a few singles, right now people can download “Rat-Tat-Tat-Hot” for free on my website, www.therealsheba.com.  I’ll also be giving away my first production, “Get Yo Story Str8” the first song I ever produced in 2005. It’ sort of a mixtape song, where I show my love for Fela, Michael Jackson and Hip Hop and the connection between MJ and Afrobeat by way of Manu Dibango.
