(TsehaiNY.com) Former Olympic and World 5000m champion Meseret Defar (8:36.09) finished 3rd today at the Samsung Diamond League in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Vivian Cheruiyot (8:34.58) of Kenya finished first, while Alemitu Bekele (8:35.19) of Turkey finished second.
According to reports on IAAF, Mesert Defar has targeted to break Masai’s record of (8:23.23).
