With Christmas around the corner and the New Year treading near, believe it or not, now may be the best time of all to marvel in your single life!

While your friends are brainstorming ideas on what to buy their significant other for Christmas, you can kick back and enjoy the show, and while they are sweating bullets at the dinner table, confronted by in-laws, you can be at the other end of the receiver listening with amusement. However, one can feel the slight touch of lonesomeness creep up while conducting routine activities. You may feel this touch while noticing couples nestling up together for warmth as you make your way down New York City streets. To get your mind off being single and to bring back the enjoyment, we’ve come up with exciting activities that you can do during the holidays and throughout your single life!

Speed Dating
Could you handle 25 dates in one night? If so then why not speed date? All you have to do is go on-line and click on which package works best for you. This depends on when you want to go, your dating preference, and the location that is convenient for you. Events are $37.00 for non-members and $27.75 for members.

Lock and Key Event
This is exactly what it sounds like. Men get keys and the women get the locks. After checking in and receiving your first set of lock or key, you have to find your match. New York’s Lock and Key event will kick off Saturday, December 1st at Katra Lounge located on 217 Bowery (Bowery at Rivington).

Cause and Effect Dating
Dating and volunteering come together through Cause and Effect Dating as couples take part in a fun activity to help a charity group. Your file is carefully reviewed and a professional will work with you to assist you in achieving your target. Even if your date doesn’t go as planned, at least you did something good!

Ice Skating Rink at Rockefeller Center

While the rink may be a little crowded during the holiday season, if you have never done so, ice-skating is a fun way to explore new horizons. Even if you are not a professional in skating on ice, then maybe you might bump into someone who is . The Rockefeller Center Ice Rink is located on 5th avenue between 49th and 50th streets. The Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, November 28th from 7:00-9:00pm.

Museums in the City
New York City is full of museums and some are free. Pick and choose from over 80 listings of museums and libraries to visit on a Saturday. Whether you land at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum or The Metropolitan Museum of Art, museums are enlightening and you may learn something about yourself that you didn’t already know.

Being single has many bonuses and it is easy to forget the autonomy that can be found in it. At what other point in your life can you date 25 people in one night and do so at your free will? Being single also gives you time to evaluate yourself, including the things that you want in a mate. Often times we rush into relationships without enjoying ourselves first.
