APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Around 35,000 people are expected to participate on 21 November 2010 in Ethiopia’s Great Run, which is Africa’s biggest mass race, APA learns here on Friday.

The race organizers, headed by prominent athlete Haile Gebresilassie launched this week the registration for the 2010 mass race, which covers 10 kilometres road race due to be held in Addis Ababa.

A number of international athletes both from Ethiopia and other countries are expected to take part in the race, which will be broadcast live on many international sport channels.

“This year’s Great Ethiopian Run celebrates its tenth year “running together”. With over 30, 000 participants expected, the Great Ethiopian Run remains the biggest mass participation race in Africa,” said the organizers.

The annual race helps Ethiopia to test its young athletes before they join the international athletics forum.
