(Source, News4JAX) JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Rute looks like any other 3-year-old now, but that wasn’t always the case.She came to Wolfson Children’s Hospital all the way from Ethiopia to have a life-saving heart surgery.”She’s had two heart surgeries, and she’s just taken off,” said Dr. Jose Ettedgui, founder of Patrons of the Hearts. “She arrived in August of ’08. She had severe heart failure. She was tiny. When she came, we were her foster family.”Along the way, the Ettedgui and his wife opened their home and their hearts to Rute. They are in the process of adopting her.Ettedgui’s Patrons of the Heart charity brought Rute to America.
