Partygoers at the Taj, NYC Halloween Weekend
Whoever said only those in grade school can dress up as their favorite princess, superhero-or villain was wrong. If you partied this past weekend and did NOT dress up, then you may have felt a little out of place. On Saturday night New York City transformed itself into a Halloween wonderland bringing out the children in all the adults who work hard during the rest of the week.
While my colleague and I, who went as ourselves, waited on the very long line of Taj, located on 48 West 21st street to enter we were greeted with questions like who are you supposed to be? No doubt, we stuck out amongst the crowd. Some of the creative costumes that grabbed our attention included a man dressed up as a baby, complete with the bottle and pacifier, Tina Turner who stole the dance floor and a Cheerleader who had to showcase her talent to the restless crowd that waited on the line.
As more and more adults get dressed up each year, it is not difficult to understand why. Perhaps this is the one time in the year where you can act like a complete –you fill in the blank- and get away with it. What ever the reason may be Halloween is definitely worth getting all dressed up for and celebrating, no matter what age.
